Ratings Round-Up

The CSI franchise continues to be a contender.

On Monday, CSI: Miami earned the top spot at 10:00pm with 13.00 million overall viewers and a 3.9 rating/10 share in the crucial 18-49 demographic. Boston Legal came in second with 8.18 million, the series premiere of My Own Worst Enemy on NBC came in third with 7.30 million viewers, and game four of the NLCS Championship Series rounded out the hour (with an average of 7.28 million viewers for the entire night). In the 18-49 demo, Enemy (3.0/8) came out ahead of game four (2.4/6 overall) and Legal (2.1/8). Compared to a year ago, Miami was down 21% from 15.59 million viewers and 4.8/12 on October 15, 2007. Compared to last week, Miami was down 620,000 viewers but had a flat 18-49 score.

CSI: New York was preempted by the third and final presidential debate on Wednesday. CBS came in third from 9:00-10:30pm with 8.91 million viewers (6.80 million at the half-hour) and 2.6/7 in 18-49 (2.1/5 at 10:30pm) behind NBC (10.34 million, dropping to 8.19 million; 3.9/9, dropping to 2.9/7) and ABC (9.66 million, falling at the half-hour to 8.00 million; 2.9/7 to start, dropping to 2.3/6).

The second episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's ninth season earned 18.84 million viewers, putting it ahead of Grey's Anatomy (14.57 million). NBC came in third with a combination of The Office with 8.07 million and SNL Weekend Update with 8.61 million, a repeat of Kitchen Nightmares on Fox pulled in a fourth-place 3.45 million viewers, and Supernatural on CW got 3.06 million. In the 18-49 demo, Grey's (5.8/14) came out ahead of CSI (5.1/13), with Office/SNL (both with 4.1/10), Nightmares (1.4/3) and Supernatural (1.2/3) rounding out the timeslot. Compared to the season premiere last week, CSI was down 4.14 million viewers, and it was also down in 18-49 after last week's 7.0/17.

New drama Eleventh Hour pulled in 12.04 million viewers, beating out ER (8.81 million) and Life on Mars (8.47 million). In the 18-49 demographic, ER edged out Hour with 3.5/10 to 3.2/9, and Mars came in third with 2.7/7. Hour had an increase of 670,000 viewers from its premiere (with a flat score in 18-49), while the other freshman drama, Mars, dropped 2.86 million viewers and 27% in 18-49.
