CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's producers have called off this week's location shoot in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the filming was cancelled last Thursday after the shock firings of actors Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) and George Eads (Nick Stokes). A casting call for Elvis Presley impersonators scheduled for Saturday was also cancelled.

CSI has been scheduled to shoot scenes for the season premiere, "Viva Las Vegas", but it is unlikely that episode will be produced in the same form. "They said they might use the same storyline later," an inside source told the newspaper.

Nancy Hancock, Clark County's film administrator, said she was unsure when Gil Grissom and company would be back in town. "They told me that they were going to come back in a month or so, but it was very iffy," she said.

"Viva Las Vegas" reportedly featured several plot lines, including the murder of a stripper and the discovery of a dead man wearing an alien costume. The "dead alien" story heavily featured both Fox and Eads' characters. CBS head honcho Les Moonves announced at the Television Critics' Association press tour on Sunday that production on CSI would be halted to allow for rewrites and casting of new actors to replace Fox and Eads.
