Robert David Hall Takes Disability Awareness To Mid West

By Carolina
June 20, 2006 - 10:17 PM

Robert David Hall (Dr. Al Robbins) visited Milwaukee recently to talk the media about Americans with disabilities.

The actor gave a speech at the IndependenceFirst POWER LUNCH to raise awareness on disability. The actor himself suffered an accident in 1978 that took both his legs, but he admits that hasn't stopped him from doing what he loves. "Just because I'm a person with a disability, that shouldn't limit me."

Hall considers his position a fortunate one, as being an actor enables him to reach more people. "Media connects with people," he said. "Whether it's Hollywood or Milwaukee, people are fascinated with what you have to say."

People with disabilities still encounter major difficulties in society, but ultimately, Hall also hopes his story will inspire others not to give up. "Hopefully people can see me and see that I’m not sitting around moping with my head in my hands."
