Carol Mendelsohn might get the chance this year to become the first CSI showrunner to launch her own show.
CBS this week announced it has picked up a pilot from Mendelsohn about a group of brilliant legal associates trying to make partner while dealing with a host of moral, ethical, and legal challenges, and a ruthless managing partner.
Mendelsohn wrote and will executive produce this unnamed pilot. A representative from the writer, however, announced Mendelsohn continue with CSI as co-showrunner even if her pilot is developed into a series.
The Eye network has also picked a pilot for the comedy The Angriest Man in Suburbia, about a family man who moves to suburbia and struggles to deal with the every day annoyances of his life. Other networks have also started picking out various drama and comedy pilots for the new season.
