CSI: Miami this week cemented its place as the Monday night powerhouse, attracting an average of 20.32 million viewers.
"Addiction", which aired on Monday, December 13, scored an overnight rating of 15.1/23, according to Marc Berman's Programming Insider column at Mediaweek. This means that approximately 15.1% of American households with television sets were tuned in to CSI: Miami that night, while the episode was viewed by 23% of households watching television at 10:00 p.m.
CSI: Miami was also a winner in the adults 18-49 demographic, posting a 7.5/19 rating ahead of ABC's Monday Night Football, which netted a 5.1/13. A repeat of NBC's Las Vegas was a distant third, achieving a 4.2/6 rating overall and a 2.2/6 in adults 18-49. CBS's line-up of Everybody Loves Raymond, Two and a Half Men and CSI: Miami easily won the night with an average of 15.67 million viewers.
Columnist Marc Berman called CSI: New York a "bona fide hit" for its winning performance on Wednesday, December 15, beating off a repeat of rival Law & Order and scoring the largest audience for the night. "Night, Mother" scored an 11.4/18 rating, beating Law & Order's 9.3/14 by a total of 23 percent. According to Media Life Magazine, New York averaged a 5.4 rating in adults 18-49.
Repeats of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's "Bad Words" and "Down the Drain" gave the final episode of NBC's The Apprentice 2 a run for its money on Thursday, December 16. The Apprentice 2 averaged 17 million viewers during its three-hour finale, according to the Hollywood Reporter, but CSI managed to trump the reality show during the 9 p.m. hour with an audience of 19.4 million. However, CBS couldn't quite manage a first-place overall, as Donald Trump guided NBC to a marginal victory with 600,000 more viewers than the Eye network.
