The third member of the franchise celebrates a milestone.

As CSI: New York prepared to film it's 100th episode, the cast and crew took a trip to the Big Apple to shoot on location. "Shooting in New York for us is always an exciting thing because we're only there a couple of times a year, and it's such a prominent character on our show," Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) told the Hollywood Reporter. "All our stories come from the city, from things that happen in the city, from the icons of the city."

"When we come here, we make big giant meat of it," executive producer Pam Veasey said. "We start early every day and get as much for a series of shows as possible." In one trip to New York City, the team might film scenes for multiple episodes. One scene they shot for the 100th episode, "My Name is Mac Taylor", took place at the waterfall installation done by artist Olafur Eliasson at the Brooklyn Bridge. "I saw the waterfalls, and I thought they were beautiful," Veasey explained. "How could we show New York and not include them?" The waterfall provides an important piece of information for the case, which takes place in the spring: why does a leaf have sea salt on it?

As a wink to the fact that the show has reached 100 episodes, "My Name is Mac Taylor" will start on the 100th floor of the Empire State Building. "With the 100th episode coming up, it seems like a rebirth," said actress Melina Kanakaredes (Stella Bonasera), who is planning to write an episode for the show. "People are really excited about taking the show to the next level. CSI and CSI: Miami are storming towards their 200th and 150th episodes, respectively, with no sign of slowing. If that's any indication, this may only be the beginning for us."
