Ayelsworth Joins 'CSI' Team

24 actress Reiko Aylesworth will be shifting gears from terrorist hunting to crime scene analysis when she joins the cast of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation this fall as a recurring character.

Variety (via Yahoo! News) is reporting that Aylesworth will play a lab-based detective. Though this news comes on the heels of the news that CSI regulars Jorja Fox and George Eads have been fired, Aylesworth's hiring is reportedly unrelated.

Aylesworth is no stranger to crime dramas. In addition to her two year stint on 24, Aylesworth has had guest roles on both Law & Order and its first spinoff, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, in which she played an assistant district attorney in several episodes.

On 24, Aylesworth played Michelle Dessler, an agent working in the counter terrorism unit in Los Angeles. Though her character managed to survive two seasons on 24, most of the regular actors, including Aylesworth, will not be returning for 24's fourth season. 24 star Kiefer Sutherland is the only regular currently confirmed for the show's fourth season.
