CBS: Petersen To Stay Until 2007

CBS has sent a loud and clear message to CSI fans worried that William Petersen (Gil Grissom) will be jumping ship at the end of next season: he's not going anywhere.
A network spokesperson told the New York Post that Petersen was contracted to appear on CSI until the end of the 2006-2007 season, the show's seventh. The comment came in repsonse to Petersen's hints to Playboy that he would leave the Las Vegas crime lab behind at the end of season five (story).
After Petersen told the men's magazine he was only contracted for five years, his representative said he may not have been aware of the actual length of the contract. "He's gonna stay with the show as long as he's signed up for — at minimum," she told the New York Post.
In addition to talking about his desire to leave the show, Petersen also told Playboy that his top choices to play "guest corpses" on CSI would be CBS president Les Moonves, Alliance Atlantis CEO Peter Sussman and executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer. The actor's representative said the interview was an example of his "biting sense of humor".
