Aisha Tyler Talks Warrick-Mia Romance

January 18, 2005 - 10:57 PM

Aisha Tyler (Mia Dickerson) revealed this week that she wouldn't mind if her character's flirtation with Warrick Brown developed into a full-fledged office romance.

"Obviously it seems like they are building up toward one," Tyler told Amy Amatangelo at the Boston Herald. "Their personalities are so different. I'm curious to see how they are going to work it out, because she's so kind of finicky and picky and quirky and she has OCD. She's just kind of like a funny little scientist, and he's so much more outgoing and cool.''

But Dickerson isn't the only one on the team with an interest in Gary Dourdan's character - only yesterday, Marg Helgenberger suggested that she wouldn't mind her own character drawing a bit closer to Warrick Brown. And Helgenberber has one advantage: Aisha Tyler has so much other work, that it seems impossible for her role to grow into anything more than a recurring character. Currently, Tyler also has a role on 24, is developing her own CBS comedy for next season, and recently released a paperback version of her book Swerve: Reckless Observations of a Postmodern Girl. "I really love working. I'm only happy when I'm kind of sickeningly busy."

Of all these projects, Tyler seemed to best enjoy her role as counterintelligence operative Marianne Taylor on Fox's 24. "I had just been sucked in that first season - such a well-acted show, so edgy, so unflinching, especially for network television," she said. "It's interesting when you're a fan of the show and then you're on it because it's always a little bit more exciting and surreal. I think everyone suspends disbelief when they're a fan of a show. You know it's actors, but there's a part of you who believes characters are real, so it's really funny to sort of walk into that space.''

In the full interview, Tyler also discussed her past as a stand-up comedian and her job as host of the E! talk show Talk Soup. Click here to read it all!
