The stars of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation took to the red carpet Monday night at a premiere screening of the fourth season premiere.

CBS debuted the episode, titled "Assume Nothing", at the Museum of Television and Radio in Los Angeles. Newsmagazine Entertainment Tonight attended the premiere to catch up with the stars.

When reporter Mark Steines encountered William Petersen (Gil Grissom), he remarked on the actor's new beard. "I forgot to shave," Petersen joked.

Steines asked Petersen for his thoughts on the 2003 Emmy Awards, which will be held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday night. For the second year in a row, CSI has received a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. "It's nice to be recognised, we've been recognised, everything's gravy after that," the actor said. "I'm just happy to go to the party. It's great to see my friends."

When it comes to awards ceremonies, there's always pressure on the female stars to outdo each other with glittering gowns. CSI's Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) isn't leaving anything to the last minute. "Everything's ready, everything's done," she said. "Thank goodness."

Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows), who is up for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, said her husband Alan Rosenberg will be the final arbiter in her fashion decision for Sunday night. "He pretty much decides, kind of," she said. "If I get a 'Wow!' then I know that's the one!"

FOX will broadcast the Emmy Awards from 8:00 p.m. on Sunday night, while "Assume Nothing" airs next Thursday at 9:00 p.m. on CBS. To view a clip from Entertainment Tonight's segment, head over to the show's web site. Photos from the event can be found at the William Petersen Appreciation Page.
