Jerry Bruckheimer Voted Hollywood's Most Powerful Man

CSI über-producer Jerry Bruckheimer was named the most powerful man in showbiz this week by Entertainment Weekly.
The magazine put Bruckheimer at the top spot of their list of 101 Hollywood makers and breakers because of his power to attract interest on film and television projects just because of his name. "The man is no longer just a canny packager of talent and content with a fat back-end," the magazine wrote, according to an AP story. "Bruckheimer has become a brand."
Other figures in the top-10 included Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise. But while powerful, over the past few years none of these people have managed to match the sheer amount of productions Bruckheimer has put out, including the two CSI shows, new TV series Cold Case and Skin, and movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Bad Boys II. Bruckheimer himself passed along word via a spokesman that he was "flattered", but wanted people to know "it's about the work and the great people he's fortunate to work with."
Along with its list of the most influential creative figures in showbiz, Entertainment Weekly also included a list of powerful executives. This list was topped by CBS chairman Les Moonves, whose fortunes have been riding high since CSI propelled the network to the top of the ratings charts.
More on the Entertainment Weekly list can be found in the full AP article, or in the new edition of Entertainment Weekly itself.
