Caruso And Rodriguez Discuss ‘CSI:Miami’’s Explosive Two-Parter

CSI:Miami stars David Caruso (Horatio Caine) and Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko) recently sat down with The Early Show’s Julie Chen to discuss the show’s big two-part storyline in which Delko gets shot.
CSI:Miami is the most watched show in the world, with 50 million viewers (18 million from the United States). These numbers have enabled the show to overtake the franchise original, which comes in 6th in the world.
The big drama behind the recently aired two-part storyline contributes to this success. In the first of the two episodes, Horatio’s nemesis Clavo Cruz returns when an explosion causing a truck full of confiscated weapons is linked to him. In the second episode, Cruz escapes from his arraignment when a missile is launched into the courthouse. A gun fight ensues and Horatio and Delko go in search of Cruz. Delko winds up getting shot. “We come close to losing him and it takes us two hours, two Monday nights to fix the story and get him back to health and, thank God, we do because he’s very important to us,” said Caruso.
Caruso and Rodriguez also discuss Caruso’s infamous one-liners. Rodriguez goes so far as to don sunglasses and imitate Caruso. Caruso’s favorite one-liner from the show is, “We never close.”
