  • As if Emily Procter (Calleigh Duquesne) turning into a rock star wasn't enough, Paul Guilfoyle (Jim Brass) appears in the video for Broken Wings, the new single of rock group Alter Bridge. The video can be watched in both RealVideo and Windows Media format on the band's official site. Thanks go out to 'jerispencerlvl3' at Talk CSI.

  • In almost every edition of the News Bullets, we feature several articles dealing with the relation between CSI and the real world. But this time around, the topic has been covered by several major media outlets. First up is the Wall Street Journal, in which criminology experts Simon Cole and Rachel Dioso rubbished the notion there is such a thing as a "CSI Effect" making juries less likely to convinct criminals. This didn't stop Encarta from publishing an article on the "Effect," and featured quotes from several forensic scientists on the embellishments CSI is often guilty of. And finally, MSNBC took the customary look at a college that has found its new forensic science courses overwhelmingly popular. Thanks go out to Al Forno for this!

  • The Parents Television Council again is unhappy with the CSI franchise. In an opinion article published in the National Ledger, PTC founder L. Brent Bozell III complained about network TV exploitation of children, and pointed to Miami's "Recoil" as an example. "Was there a memo from the corporate suits at CBS in Hollywood asking for these shows to have a mother-daughter hooker plot?," he asked. "These plots are to designed to shock, to lock in eyeballs for boffo ratings numbers. They certainly aren't plots designed to raise social consciousness. [...] And shame on those of us who actually want to watch this unfolding depravity."

  • The official CBS web site has posted its recaps of both CSI: New York's "The Closer" and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's "Iced."

  • The Miami Herald has posted an article looking at the many TV shows set in Las Vegas. Not only fictional shows such as CSI and Las Vegas enjoy shooting in Sin City, but also a lot of travel shows and documentary programs.

  • Responding to a request to pitch concepts for a new Star Trek show, a Seattle Times reader suggested CSI: Vulcan. "In which the ruthless use of logic and endless shots of green corpuscles demonstrate how science is used to determine who the deviant was who showed emotion."

  • David Caruso Online has a massive amount of new photos, including screencaps for the Miami episodes "Wannabe" and "Vengeance," behind-the-scenes pictures of "MIA/NYC Non-Stop", and pictures of several award shows, photoshoots and film premieres attended by the Horatio Caine actor.

  • Screencaps for "Vengeance" are also available at JustAdam.net, a fan site for Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko).

  • The Lt. Dan Band of Gary Sinise embarks on its European tour coming week, to visit American forces stationed in Belgium, Germany and England. The band's performance schedule can be found here.

  • Over at the JFO are several new shots of "Weeping Willows."
