Melina Kanakaredes was recently interviewed by TV Guide about the upcoming episode of New York that'll put her character through an emotional rollercoaster.

The episode is called "Run Silent, Run Deep," and while through the course of it Danny Messer will be dealing with the demons from his past, Stella will have to confront her devil in the present.

"I don't wanna give too much away but, as tough and smart as Stella is at her job, this episode is really groundbreaking because you get to see that she is real and she has flaws," Kanakaredes said. "We've shown violence and we've shown victims before, but as a franchise I don't think we've ever done anything this intense. It's a big change and a highly anticipated one for me."

The storyline will revolve around Stella's boyfriend Frankie (Ed Quinn), who isn't as trustworthy as Stella originally thought. Though the pair has been in a relationship for months now, Stella will finally see his true colors next week. As a result, the CSI may end up behind bars.

"We see this CSI become the person who's fingerprinted," she revealed. "Earlier in the season, Stella was in control of her relationship with boyfriend Frankie. He never came to her place. She always went to his. So it's interesting that Stella would let her guards down now. And when you let down your guard, you miss the closest clues because you're not looking. How the hell did she not know this guy was a creep?"

The episode already looks like an emotional bomb waiting to explode, and the consequences of it will continue into the episode preceding it. Though the actress couldn't go into great detail, she made one thing very clear: don't miss the last five minutes. "All I can say is it's unexpected."
