In the 6th episode of CSI, entitled "Secrets & Flies," the team investigates the death of a mother whose baby's mysterious conception may have led to murder.

According to CSI Files sources, the CSI team is sent out to the field to visit the home of Christina Adalian, who was found by the authorities dead while her baby Joey was in the room, alive. Suicide seems like the logical conclusion when Grissom and Catherine find a suicide note in the room, written by Christina. In it, Christina admits she can't take care of Joey anymore and someone better suited should. But the CSIs quickly realize that while the note was written with a red pen, such red pen is nowhere to be found in the house. Could the suicide have been staged?

Jim Brass talks to Lana Adalian, Christina's sister. Lana claims she last saw her sister a year before, when Christina was just beginning to show and was going through a bad break-up with her ex-boyfriend, one Evan Winters. Brass wonders if Evan is the father of baby Joey, but Lana assures him Evan isn't, as her sister never had sex with him. In fact, Lana tells the detective, Christina was a virgin. Brass doesn't need to be a man of science to assume either Lana is lying or Christine was hiding something important relating to her son. Lana wants to take Joey home with her, she's good with kids, but Joey has already been put under the state's scare until the case is solved.

Catherine and Warrick find Evan Winters, who tells the CSIs he last saw Christina a couple of days before her murder. Seems Christina called Evan to explain her mysterious pregnancy – Christina, according to Evan, claimed God got her pregnant. Evan tells Catherine he didn't want to deal with a "Jesus Freak" and left Christina in her house, alive. Though he was hurt that Christina cheated on him, Evan says, he wasn't mad enough to kill her. Catherine quickly realizes this is a dead end, and to be able to solve this case she'll have to delve deep into Christina's life. Is baby Joey really a miracle baby? Who would want to kill Christina and why? The CSIs must find the truth before Joey ends up in the wrong hands.

Meanwhile, Grissom steps out of the investigation at the behest of Conrad Ecklie so he can be witness to an important trial. On November 15th of last year, Joanna Whitson's body was found in the woods with fly larvae inside of her. Dr. Mark Thayer, an entomologist and expert witness for the defense, claims he can prove the accused is innocent with simple science and math.

The Black Blow Fly has a life-cycle of 15 days, meaning Joanna was murdered on November 1st. The suspect, however, was out of the country until November 3rd, so math dictates he couldn't have killed Joanna. Grissom is surprised to learn Dr. Thayer video documented the life-cycle of the fly in great detail for the jury, but soon begins to wonder whether he should take the stand when he realizes science doesn't lie, but it can be manipulated.

This plot was originally intended to air during "Iced," but was cut due to time constraint. Instead of eliminating altogether, however, the writers have decided to squeeze it into "Secrets & Flies."

Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from early script drafts and the details and the airing order of the episodes are liable to change before the episodes are shown.

"Secrets & Flies" will most likely air November of 2005.
