- On June 8, Johnny Palermo and his girlfriend, Alessandra Giangrande, were killed in a car accident. Palermo appeared in CSI: Miami ("Flight Risk") and CSI: New York ("Personal Foul"). The actor was 27 years old. (Source: The Hollywood Reporter)
- As CSI Files previously reported, the ninth season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will be released on DVD September 1. The season will also be released on Blu-ray Disc the same day. More details, as well as an early look at the possible cover art for the set, can be found here.
- According to the AFP, the Fox series House beat out CSI and Miami to become the most watched fictional show in 2008 with 81.8 million viewers worldwide.
- Megalyn Echikunwoke (Dr Tara Price) was last seen in the penultimate episode of Miami's seventh season, "Dissolved". The character was not mentioned in the season finale, and the actress was removed from the series' opening credits. Echikunwoke has landed a recurring role on the TNT series Raising the Bar, but there is no word about whether she will return to Miami. A spokesperson for the show teased, "On CSI: Miami, you never know when someone will return." (Source)
- New York star Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) narrated the Chicago Cubs documentary We Believe. The film will open in theaters across the country in July.
