The fourth season won't wrap up nicely next week.
CSI: New York's Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) didn't say much about the upcoming fourth season finale, but he did say that it will be a cliffhanger. "It's something a little new for us," Sinise told the NY Daily News. "It's a great story line." The finale airs May 21, and fans will have to wait until season five starts in September before they learn the outcome.
The finale, titled "Hostage", centers around a bank robbery. The manager of the bank is killed, and things get complicated when the robber demands that a CSI come into the bank to prove his innocence. Mac is the one that goes inside. "It's a real-time hostage situation where there's the possibility of fatality," executive producer Peter Lenkov said in the May 19-25 issue of TV Guide. "Let's just say the cliffhanger involves Mac, and it doesn't look good."
The finale finished filming last week. Now the crew of New York will film the first three episodes of season five to get a head start before the summer hiatus. For Sinise, it's all part of a busy month. The actor went to Ellis Island to receive an Ellis Island Award May 10, his Lt Dan Band is playing concerts on weekends, and he'll be in New York May 18 when the wall honoring police officers and firefighters killed on 9/11 is dedicated in Brooklyn's KeySpan Park.
