'CSI' Leaves Creative Arts Emmys Empty-Handed

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation didn't uncover any Emmys at the Creative Arts, Engineering and Interactive Television Awards ceremony at Los Angeles's Shrine Auditorium on Sunday, September 12th.

According to The Miami Herald, CSI lost in the Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series category, the Makeup for a Series (Non-Prosthetic) category and the Single-Camera Sound Mixing for a Series category. Nominated for four awards in all {story), CSI will still compete for the Best Drama award this Sunday, September 19th.

CSI was trumped in the Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series race by HBO's Carnivale, which picked up an award for its episode "Pick a Number." Carnivale, which also bested Alias, The Sopranos and The West Wing to win the statue, took home five awards in total.

Gilmore Girls won the Non-Prosthetic Makeup for a Series award for the episode "The Festival of Living Art." This was the only award for the WB's Gilmore Girls. It beat out Carnivale, Deadwood and Nip/Tuck in addition to CSI for the trophy.

24's episode "5:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m." trumped CSI in the Single-Camera Sound Mixing for a Series category. In addition to CSI, the Fox series beat out Alias, The Sopranos and The West Wing for the award. 24 garnered four statues in total.

On September 19th, CSI will compete for the Best Drama trophy. It faces competition from The Sopranos, The West Wing, 24 and Joan of Arcadia.
