CBS Planning To Expand Online Availability
By DeborahApril 12, 2007 - 11:20 PM
CBS is expected to announce deals to distribute its television shows to various websites. Microsoft’s MSN and Time Warner’s AOL are among the sites the network is negotiating with.
The agreements would make previously aired episodes of CSI, Evening News With Katie Couric and some sports programming available to the sites.
CBS is also expected to announce an agreement with online video service Joost.
CBS hopes to retain 90 percent of the advertising revenue generated by the shows, with the remaining 10 percent going to its distribution partners.
