  • CSI: New York star Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) will appear on the Bonnie Hunt Show Wednesday, January 14. (Check local listings for when the show airs in your area.)

  • At last week's People's Choice Awards, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation lost to House in the Favorite TV Drama category. (Source)

  • Hill Harper (New York's Dr Sheldon Hawkes) will attend The BET Honors on January 17. The actor will then co-anchor the BET network's coverage of the Inauguration Swearing-In Ceremony and Parade for President-Elect Barack Obama on January 20.

  • CBS made a deal with Verizon which expands the company's rights to carry CBS shows on its FiOS TV platform. The deal will also enable Verizon Wireless customers to access CBS series on their cell phones with the V Cast video service. (Source: Business Week)

  • The Geodesic Sensor Net featured in this week's episode of CSI: Miami, "Head Case", is a real piece of equipment. Don Tucker, developer of the sensor net and CEO of Electrical Geodesics Inc, was asked to fly to the Miami set to help put the sensor cap on the actor. He wasn't consulted about the script, but he said the use of the net was "a fairly reasonable scientific treatment." He added, "Of course, it's a TV drama, too."
