An upcoming episode will reportedly offer a twist on the usual CSI: Crime Scene Investigation formula — the CSIs know the guy who did it, they just have to prove it.

Sources today revealed the first plot information for "After The Show", which focuses on the disappearance of a young model, Julie Waters. As the episode opens, Captain Brass and a SWAT team raid the house of her suspected kidnapper-cum-murderer, Charles Delhomme, and take him into custody. Delhomme, a photographer who used Julie several times for his shoots, willingly admits that he took her, but decides to string the CSIs along for as long as he can.

Delhomme leads the team out to a canyon, where the full might of the Las Vegas police force turns out to search for Julie Waters. Catherine walks with the photographer as they comb the area for evidence, but he's deliberately being coy. Soon he starts to claim that it was all a dream and he didn't really kill Julie. Knowing that they're on a wild goose chase, the CSIs call off the search of the area.

The next search takes place at one of Delhomme's favourite locations to stage his photo shoots, Devil's Smile. Here they have better luck, relatively speaking, when a young police cadet discovers Julie buried in a creek bed. But they still don't have any concrete evidence to charge Charles Delhomme, who continues to get more evasive with every interrogation...

Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from an early draft of the script and details may change before the episode goes to air.

"After The Show" will likely air in late 2003 or early 2004.
