Entitled Florida Getaway, the debut CSI: Miami story is a crossover novel with the Las Vegas team, just like the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode "Cross-Jurisdictions".

"The case begins in Vegas with Grissom and crew," Max Allan Collins told CSI Files, "and then in the next chapter the ball is passed to Horatio Caine, with various Vegas personnel making (telephone) appearances as the case develops."

A two-time winner of the Private Eye Writers of America Shamus Award, Collins is the author of three previous CSI: Crime Scene Investigation novels, Cold Burn, Sin City and Double Dealer. He is currently working on his fourth CSI Las Vegas book, entitled Body of Evidence.

"The former story has political ramifications involving the sheriff's desire to run for mayor, and the latter involves an ad agency exec who has child porn discovered on his computer.

"Grissom, Sara and Warrick work the murder case, which includes possible necrophilia, and Catherine and Nick fight their own prejudices (as a mom and an individual with abuse in his past, respectively) in dealing with the kiddie-porn suspect."

Florida Getaway and Body of Evidence can currently be pre-ordered from online retailer Amazon.com using the following links:
