Rodriguez: It's Been Brewing For A Long Time

Love is in the air.

Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) has been delving into his past on CSI: Miami, and the character has another personal development on the way. His relationship with fellow CSI Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Procter) will be heating up this season. "It's something that's been brewing for a long time," Rodriguez told TV Guide, "and for it to finally come to the surface and be addressed ... well, it's long overdue."

Rodriguez and Procter kept their lips sealed about precisely what will happen between their characters. "Delko definitely has been, I guess, a guy's guy for a long time," Rodriguez said. "That makes it all the more profound that he's making this decision now to commit his energy and love to Calleigh."

Calleigh, meanwhile, is "somewhat skittish" when it comes to romantic relationships, Procter shared. However, the actress is hoping her character will give Eric a chance. "I would hope for Calleigh that she can pull it together enough to recognize what a great man Delko is, and commit from her side," Procter explained. Rodriguez added, "For a long time, it was touch and go when and if this was going to happen. I guess they made the decision to go ahead with it ... and it was very welcomed!"
