- CSI: Miami's special 90-minute episode "Crime Wave" brought in 15.3% of the American audience, which equates to 22% of those households watching TV that night (compared to 14.2/24 for the last new episode a fortnight ago). The show netted a massive 21.91 million viewers and was not only top of the hour but top of the night by a decisive margin. A full report is available at Mediaweek's Programming Insider.
- New York Times columnist Michael Starr notes in his latest column The Starr Report that William Petersen (Gil Grissom) is among nominees for TV Guide: Greatest Moments 2004, due to air December 20th on ABC.
- CSI: Crime Scene Investigation failed to win the award for Most Popular Drama after being nominated in the UK's prestigious National Television awards, notes the BBC. The award was won by long-running police drama The Bill.
- Fan site The William Petersen Appreciation Page has been updated with a plethora of new screencaps and a trade ad from the Hollywood Reporter, although sadly the webmaster has had to remove videos from the site temporarily due to bandwidth concerns.
- And another fan site, JorjaFoxOnline has also posted a number of new screencaps from the CSI episode "What's Eating Gilbert Grissom?".
- Fort Frances Times Online has run an article discussing how schools are turning to CSI to give inspiration for their curriculums, noting that use of CSI techniques can give pupils not only a grounding in sciences but also world issues and language arts.
- Could there possibly be a more popular show than CSI? USA Today columnist Fary Levin thinks so – pointing out that when you include audiences from its Sunday repeat, ABC's Desperate Housewives seems to be eclipsing CSI in terms of viewer numbers.
