  • Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) and David Caruso (Horatio Caine) talked to CBS News this week about the crossover episodes and what it's like partnering up. "We work very well together, actually, yeah," Sinise said. "He's got his techniques and I've got mine." Caruso added, "To see the two casts together, I think it enhances the reality of what we're doing. It makes it even more real."

  • The magazine Golf Digest recently ranked Gary Sinise in 74th place among Hollywood's top 100 celebrity golfers.

  • And in more Sinise news, the actor will play with his Lt. Dan Band at Joe's Bar in Chicago next weekend. Proceeds will go to the United States Vietnam Arts Program. "I just feel that as a citizen of the United States and as somewhat of a celebrity," Sinise told the Chicago Tribune. "I can use that to help out, pitch in and give back in some way."

  • Michael Shanks, from Stargate SG-1, has landed a role on CSI: Miami. Shanks will portray a landscape architect and ex-boyfriend of a rape victim. When the woman is later murdered, Shanks's character will become one of the primary victims. This will take place in episode 11.

  • The CSI episode "Grave Danger" will soon be available for purchase in Canada, according to TV Shows on DVD. The details have not been released yet, but the 88-minute disc will contain at least one featurette. The DVD will be released on November 29th.

  • Don Flack centered screencaps of the New York episode "YoungBlood" are now available in the Eddie Cahill devoted website Eddie Cahill Online.

  • The Oregonian recently took a closer look at CSI and CSI: Miami and what makes the shows so successful.

  • Pictures of Sofia Milos (Yelina Salas) at the Latin Grammy Awards can now be seen at the actress's official website.

  • Gary Sinise also talked to CBS News about his organization Operation Iraqi Children, which brings school supplies to the children of Iraq. "It's a wonderful way to help the little kids over there who really have nothing," Sinise said. "They've lived in an oppressed society for many, many years. We're actually providing supplies for these little kids to have a better life."

  • MSN recently compiled a list of TV's Hottest Cops. CSI made the cut with Khandi Alexander (Alexx Woods), David Caruso, Melina Kanakaredes (Stella Bonasera), Eva LaRue (Natalia Boa Vista), and William Petersen (Gil Grissom).

  • CSI: New York is doing pretty well with the ratings in Norway, the show is being watched roughly by 300,000 viewers, more than the amount of people who watched CSI's fourth season. Miami is also doing well in the ratings, pulling in 200,000 viewers each week. More European related news can be found at CSI Forum.

  • In Virginia, CSI labs are finding out that getting a DNA match doesn't always mean there will be a conviction. "We love to talk about our CSI-style matches, but nobody has wanted to look too deeply into what they really amount to," said Max Houck, head of West Virginia University's forensic science program. "We're pouring millions into (the DNA) system, and we don't have any idea whether it's cost-effective in the area that really counts."

  • And in Columbia, South Carolina, the popularity of CSI has students pouring into a special 10-week class on crime scene investigation.
