Stella Takes Charge In Episode 3
By CaillanAugust 9, 2004 - 8:50 AM
Stella Bonasera will reportedly take centre stage in CSI: New York's third episode, which will revolve around a woman raped while walking through Central Park at night.
According to CSI Files sources, the victim, Robin Prescott, decides to take a short cut through the New York icon after her cab becomes stuck in traffic. While walking through the park, she is assaulted and raped, but fortunately lives to tell the tale. Unfortunately for the CSIs, Robin can't remember what happened that night, including where the assault took place.
Danny examines Robin's clothes to see if they can provide a clue to the crime scene. He works with A.J. Dalton, the New York crime lab's resident audio-visual geek, to match a leaf found on Robin's stockings with a physical location in the park. The leaf matches two locations, the Shakespeare Garden and the east side near 105th street. The guys can't discriminate between the two, until Stella provides some much needed clarity: the Shakespeare Garden is on the direct route between Robin and her destination, and a woman wearing new high heels wouldn't have detoured to the east side of the park.
The police descend on Shakespeare Garden, looking for anything that could provide a clue to the identity of the rapist. Stella comes up trumps in the form of a nose ring next to a take-out container. Bingo. With Detective Flack in tow, she heads down to Ramon's Steakhouse, where the dishwasher, 17-year-old Donovan Tracey, is sporting a bandage on his nose. Donovan swears he found Robin lying on the ground when he got there and was bending down to swipe her purse when she reached out to him, tearing out his nose ring in the process.
At this stage the CSIs can only prove theft, not rape. Stella hopes the semen left by the rapist will provide a sample of DNA to allow them to identify the attacker. But when she pays a visit to the DNA lab, there's bad news: the semen sample doesn't contain any DNA...
Please note that these plot details have not yet been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The information comes from an early draft of the script and aspects of the episode may change before it goes to air.
Episode three will likely air in October, 2004.
