  • Special effects company Zoic Studios, which provides visuals for CSI: Miami, has installed a Gigabit Ethernet network for transfering data. Read more at VNUNet.com.

  • Home Theatre Magazine's Rebecca Day recently tried watching several CBS programmes, including CSI, in High Definition and was more than impressed. "CBS looks great in 1080i, and I'm hoping for similar results when local NBC and ABC stations start broadcasting in HD," she wrote.

  • Mansfield University has created a new forensic science minor after demand from students inspired by CSI to enter the crime-solving profession, the Hartford Courant reported. The new minor includes elements of criminal justice, chemistry and physics.

  • A five-day seminar for forensic scientists was held in Boise, Idaho, recently, according to KBCI 2. The real-life crime scene analysts tested their skills by processing fictious murders.
