Anthony Zuiker Pens New Three-Year Deal With CBS

By Carolina
December 8, 2005 - 5:45 PM

CSI creator Anthony Zuiker recently inked a new pact with CBS's Paramount Network Unit.

The eight-figure deal will tie Zuiker to CBS for three more years and will give the young writer the opportunity to create and develop new shows for the network. He will also continue as executive producer of the CSI trio, as well as showrunner of CSI: New York.

Zuiker thanked colleagues Carol Mendelsohn (CSI showrunner), Ann Donahue (Miami showrunner) and Pam Veasey (New York writer) for helping him achieve success. "They are with me when things are good and behind me when things get tough," he said. "Those are the people I want to kill for... so to speak."

Though Zuiker is expected to create new shows for CBS, network president Les Moonves said a third CSI spin-off is not in their plans. "I don't think we should push the envelope [with a fourth CSI]."
