Actors from the CSI franchise get recognized.
CSI: New York's Hill Harper (Dr Sheldon Hawkes) won the "Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series" award at last year's National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards. This year, the actor is on the list again in the same category. Harper is also nominated in the "Outstanding Literary Work – Youth/Teens" category for his second book, Letters to a Young Sister: DeFINE Your Destiny.
Joining Harper among the nominees is the newest addition to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Laurence Fishburne (Dr Raymond Langston). Fishburne is in the category for "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series". Fishburne has been nominated for the NAACP Image Awards multiple times, and he has taken home three awards (two in 1996 and one in 1998).
Other CBS actors nominated for awards include Blair Underwood and Wanda Sykes from the comedy series The New Adventures of Old Christine. The Unit is nominated in the "Outstanding Drama Series" category. One of that show's stars, Dennis Haysbert, is nominated alongside Harper as an "Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series". CBS also has nominees in the "Outstanding Actor/Actress in a Daytime Drama Series" categories: Bryton McClure, Dan Martin, Montell Williams, Texas Battle, Christel Khalil, Eva Marcille, Nia Peeples and Tonya Lee Williams.
The original list is from HipHopRX. The information about Fishburne's NAACP Image Awards is from Ace Showbiz, as is information about Harper's awards.
