Paramount Home Video yesterday announced the full details for its upcoming DVD release of CSI: Miami's second season.
The DVD box set will of course include all 24 episodes that aired last year, combining for a full running time of 1043 minutes. According to the press release available on TVShowsOnDVD.com, seven of these episodes will be accompanied by audio commentaries, presumably with the producers, writers, and directors, although exact details on this are still unknown. These seven commentaries are an improvement over the first-season set, which only contained four.
The seven commentaries will be accompanied by four new featurettes, namely 'CSI: Miami - Visually Effective' and 'CSI: Miami - Recalling Season Two,' as well as set tours of the Trace Lab and the A/V Lab. Last time around, Khandi Alexander (Alexx Woods) and Emily Procter (Calleigh Duquesne) hosted tours of the autopsy theater and the gun lab, respectively, while there were three other featurettes included.
The CSI: Miami release will be enhanced for 16:9 widescreen televisions, include an English Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, and Dolby Surround for Spanish viewers. In addition, closed captioning is provided for the hearing impaired. Paramount expects a $70 retail price, but it is currently available for a low pre-order price of $45.49 at Amazon.
The CSI: Miami set will be released on the 4th of January, 2005. For the full news release, please follow this link to TVShowsOnDVD, to pre-order the set, click here.
