No Emmy Nominations For 'CSI'

For the second consecutive year, CSI was shut out of the Emmy race.

The Emmy nominations, which were announced this morning, came with disappointing news for the folks at the CSI franchise, as none of the shows managed to get into the Best Drama Series category, despite CSI's creative campaign. None of the actors managed to snatch any nominations, either.

CSI's ratings rival, Grey's Anatomy, and 24 both lead the nominations race with 11 and 12 nods respectively. Grey's Anatomy will face CSI next year in the Thursdays at 9 pm timeslot. Other contenders for the Best Drama include the now gone The West Wing, as well as House and The Sopranos.

The franchise did receive a few technical nods, however. The CSI episode Gum Drops snatched a nomination for Outstanding Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series, and "A Bullet Runs Through It, Part 1" was recognized in the Outstanding Sound Editing For A Series and the Outstanding Single-Camera Sound Mixing For A Series categories.

CSI: New York also picked up a technical nod; the series will compete in the Outstanding Makeup For A Series (Non-Prosthetic) category for the episode "Wasted." CSI: Miami received no nominations.

The The 58th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air August 27th on NBC and will be hosted by Conan O'Brien. For a complete list of nominees, visit the Emmy's official website.
