Hello World!

Okay, I know I'm supposed to talk about the Oscars. Here's the thing, though, I totally wrote a report but... no, seriously, I didn't even know the Oscars were last night until I logged on and went to Yahoo News and saw all the coverage and stuff this morning. I don't like award shows (not, 'not like' so much as 'hate'), so I don't generally keep track. Sorry! I'm surprised, though, because even if I don't follow award shows, I generally know when they're about to take place, what with all the buzz and media whoring. But this year, I swear I didn't see one commercial.

But, my friend Kristine Huntley informs me that CSI's associate producer Corinne Marrinan won an Oscar last night! Yipee! Marrinan won for her A Note of Triumph: The Golden Age of Norman Corwin documentary in the Documentary Short Subject category. As a reward, the Academy sat her next to George Clooney at the nomination breakfast. I'll take that over a L'Oréal basket any day. Congratulations to Merrinan!

This Week On TV

  • Tonight at 10:00pm, CSI: Miami's new episode "Collision" aired on CBS. Here's how the network described it:

"A woman is killed from what seems to be a terrible auto accident. However, further evidence reveals that she was killed after the accident and a dead body is found in the trunk of the car. Now, as the investigation seems to be a case of a jewelry heist gone awry, the victim's traumatized son and Natalia's hidden past may hold the key to discovering what really happened."

  • CSI: New York returns this week after a with a new episode: "Cool Hunter". This is what you can expect from it:

"After learning that the building in which their victim was found had six suspicious deaths over a 10 year period, Lindsay begins to question the science and wonders if the building is cursed. Mounting evidence seems to point to only one suspect, a doctor (guest star Brian Bloom), who swears he had no interaction with the victim, even though their lives seem intertwined. Meanwhile, when a trend spotter is killed in Washington Heights after photographing a stylish teen (guest star Daniella Alonso, "One Tree Hill"), Stella, Sheldon and Danny question the marketing executive (guest star Michael DeLorenzo, "New York Undercover") whose business was affected most by the victim's foray into the neighborhood."

  • And on Thursday night at 9/8c, the new CSI episode "I Like To Watch" will air. Here's what you can expect from it:

"In this episode, a camera crew from a reality series follows the CSI team during the first 48 hours of an investigation involving an upscale real estate agent found dead in her glamorous high-rise apartment. The cameras reveal the intricacies of how the CSIs piece together the case, but also delve into how each member of the team deals differently with the emotional and physical demands of their work."

In addition to the above episodes on CBS, cable channel SpikeTV will of course continue its daily CSI repeats.
