13.5 Million Take 'The Fall'

In a week full of reruns, New York's new episode pulled in decent numbers, but not decent enough to beat Law and Order.
This week, CSI: New York saw a slight drop in the ratings, compared to previous weeks. The brand new episode, "The Fall", was watched by 13.5 million viewers, 4.6/12 of the key demo. Last week, the show delivered stronger numbers; 14.1 million people watched "Hush". New York's ratings rival, NBC's Law and Order, won the 10 p.m. time slot, pulling in 14.7 million this week. But once again, FOX's American Idol was the winner of the night, despite its slight ratings drop, averaging 23.9 million viewers.
South of New York, Miami's rerun of "Pirated" pulled in a comfortable 13.5 million viewers, 4.6/11 of the share. However, the show lost its 10 p.m. slot crown to NBC's Medium, whose brand new episode averaged 15.1 million viewers and 5.6/13 in adults 18-49. Try as they might, however, neither show's ratings were strong enough to take on American Idol, which also won Monday night with 23.4 million viewers. This is FOX's best performance in the ratings since January 2004.
On Thursday night, the anticipated premiere of NBC's Law and Order: Trial by Jury pulled in an impressive 17.1 million viewers, 6.2/17 in adults 18-49, beating a rerun of Without A Trace, which averaged 14.9 million viewers. But the premiere wasn't strong enough to beat a repeat of CSI's "Mea Culpa", which averaged 25.5 million viewers overall, 8.5/21 in adults 18-49. The show finished in first place for the night, crowning CBS Thursday night's ratings winner.
