This week, the CSI franchise is airing three new episodes, including the return of Horatio's son and a crossover with another CBS show.
CSI: Miami starts out the week with "Chain Reaction", and Kyle Harmon is back:
- When a model is electrocuted on the runway, the case leads Horatio back to his son and his nemesis.
This is the 22 episode of Miami directed by Scott Lautanen, who also directed three episodes of CSI: New York, the latest being season three's "Oedipus Hex". Brian Davidson has written eight previous episodes of Miami, "Bang Bang, Your Debt" being the most recent. Corey Evett and Matt Partney have written two other episodes of the show together, including this season's "Cyber-lebrity".

Helena Mattsson was also on New York, in "City of the Dolls". Vincent M. Ward was in "Viva Las Vegas" during CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's fifth season.
On Wednesday, CSI: New York airs "Commuted Sentences", in which sexual predators are targeted:
- Mac and the team find a man stabbed to death in Madison Square Park and a woman shot dead on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art . and they soon realize that the two victims have a criminal past in common.
Oz Scott has directed five previous episodes of New York, including this season's "The Deep". "Commuted Sentences" is John Dove's third episode of New York. The last episode he wrote was "Sleight Out of Hand" in season three. New York fans might recognize Dove from his appearances on the show as Detective John Scagnetti, aka "Detective Prada" ("Grand Murder at Central Station"), during the show's second season.

- In Part One of a Two-Part crossover episode to conclude on Without A Trace, a kidnap victim from New York who went missing six years ago may be the same boy whose death Grissom and the CSI team are investigating in Las Vegas.
Kenneth Fink has directed 41 previous episodes of CSI, his last episode being this season's premiere, "Dead Doll". "Dead Doll" also featured Allen MacDonald as a writer and was the seventh episode he'd written for the show. Naren Shankar, like Fink and MacDonald, worked on "Dead Doll".
