Melina Kanakaredes (Stella Bonasera) will this fall star in the movie Into the Fire, a drama flick by writer/director Michael Phelan.
The movie, which premiered at the Tribecca Film Festival in 2004, has finally received a premiere date after being re-scheduled in 2004. Into the Fire is expected to premiere on September 23rd in New York City, where it was filmed.
Into the Fire tells the story of a plane crash near the Kennedy airport, and the impact it has on three individuals whose lives collide during the core of the tragedy. Kanakaredes will portray Catrina Hampton, an elementary school teacher waiting for her twin sister Sabrina to return from London. After Sabrina dies in the crash, Catrina finds herself alone, but a chance meeting with the officer who found her sister under sea might change that. Into the Fire also stars Sean Patrick Flannery and JoBeth Williams.
Kanakaredes filmed Into the Fire prior to joining CSI: New York, and had the opportunity to portray both Catrina and Sabrina Hampton. The movie will premiere at the Landmark's Sunshine Cinema in New York on September 23rd.
