'CSI' Tops Fall Season Charts

CSI: Crime Scene Investigations is the big winner of the fall 2003 season, with CSI: Miami not far behind.
According to Entertainment Weekly's "Winners and Losers" report in their January 9th issue (#745), CSI was the top watched show of the fall 2003 season, ranking first out of 126 shows. CSI averaged 26.4 million viewers from the start of its season through December 7th, the cutoff date for EW's scoring.
CSI's closest timeslot competitors, Will & Grace and Scrubs came in just shy of the top ten. Will & Grace came in at number 11, averaging 15.4 million viewers, while Scrubs took the 19th slot, with a season average of 13.3 million viewers.
CSI: Miami came in at number 6, averaging 17.9 million viewers for the season so far. CSI: Miami's closest timeslot competitor, ABC's Monday Night Football also ranked in the top ten, two slots below Miami at number 8. Monday Night Football averaged 16.7 million viewers.
CBS had a strong showing, taking six of the top 10 slots. Survivor: Pearl Islands came in at second place with 20.6 million viewers, almost 6 million fewer than CSI's average. CSI: Miami's lead in shows placed in the top ten: Everybody Loves Raymond came in 5th with 18.8 million viewers, while Two and a Half Men took 9th place with 15.8 million viewers. Without a Trace, CSI's lead out show, rounded out the top 10 with 15.7 million viewers.
