Hello World!

Hello, children.

I had this whole thing typed out about what a sucky week I've had, but who wants to hear me complain when we can just laugh about other people?

For those of you who haven't been keeping up with the Runaway Bride story, let me tell ya, that is primo humor right there. In a nutshell, a woman in Georgia bought a Greyhound ticket to Austin and disappeared a week before her wedding and in lieu of telling her fiancé she had cold feet. After hanging out in Vegas for a while (if you can smell the irony then you're my kind of pal) she called police from a pay phone at a 7-Eleven, saying she had been kidnapped. Chaos ensued until she was found later in Albuquerque and finally admitted she just had the 'wedding jitters'. The kicker? Her fiancé still wants to marry her, because apparently what she went through was just a 'phase'. Oh, and she wants all of us to know she's, "very, very sorry."

Why would you pay 10 bucks to go to the theatre when you can get that kind of entertainment for free on your own backyard? I guess... good luck to them both, and here's to a less adventurous honey moon (so to speak).

CSI Files Two Years Ago

Here's what was hot back in early May, 2003:

  • 'Time' Lauds Bruckheimer's Success
Two years ago, Time magazine chose Jerry Bruckheimer as television's most influential new developer of dramas. "Somehow Bruckheimer, the most successful producer in film history, with $12.5 billion in worldwide box-office receipts from movies such as Top Gun, Armageddon and Con Air, is on his way to becoming the most successful producer in the history of TV", said Joel Stein. The magazine also applauded the producer's treatment of his audience and his lack of sensationalism when telling a story.

  • 'Tinder Box' Blazes To Ratings Win
The controversial CSI: Miami episode "Tinder Box" managed to pull in 11.4 rating/17 share in its original airing. The episode beat the two-hour final episode of The Practice and NBC's Crossing Jordan.

  • 'CSI' Season Two To Be Released In Region 2
Momentum Pictures Home Entertainment announced two years ago their release of the first half of CSI on Region 2. Aside from the commentaries on three different episodes, the DVD set also included a set walk-through with the show's forensic advisor, Liz Devine, and behind-the-scenes featurettes about CSI's music, makeup and special effects.
