- The Insider recently visited the set of Category 7: The End Of The World to talk to Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko) about the made for TV movie, which will follow the life of a category seven storm as it moves towards the United States, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. Rodriguez will play a co-pilot whose job is to fly to the center of the storm to collect scientific data. "This is so cool, this is amazing," the actor said as he showed off the ellaborate set and the airplane he got to "fly" for the telefilm.
- A promotional image of the Miami/New York crossover episodes can now be seen at the David Caruso Fans webpage.
- Mike Ausiello, of TV Guide's Ask Ausiello column, was recently asked if there's a chance Donna Murphy, who played Brass's ex-partner Annie Kramer in the episode "Hollywood Brass," might make a second appearance on the show. According to Ausiello, CSI co-showrunner Carol Mendelsohn said, "Not likely this season, but anything is possible. She could reemerge down the road."
- Ausiello also had some interesting spoilers about CSI: Miami. According to Ann Donahue, he wrote, Eva LaRue's character Natalia Boa Vista will be getting romantically involved with one of the male characters of the show. Donahue also discussed Rory Cochrane's departure and the chances of seeing Tim Speedle again, even though he's quite dead. "You know, I'll tell you what, it's always open," she said. "We love him, too; I've got to tell you, we love him. And we have kicked it around, different ways to go. Never say never."
- TV Guide is currently running an online poll, and one of the questions is: who is this year's best female cop? CSI's Catherine Willows and New York's Stella Bonasera are among the choices.
- Eva LaRue will be featured in three different magazines come January, according to her official website. The actress will grace the covers of Complete Woman, Salon City, and Inland Empire. La Rue will also be featured in upcoming issues of In Touch, Celebrity Living, and Sophisticates Hairstyle Guide.
- CBS's ex-parent company Viacom is slowly recuperating from its recent economical slump. The company made a profit of $708.5 million in this year's third quarter, a vast improvement over last year's loss of $487.6 million during the same quarter.
- Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels, one of the founders of the hip hop group Run-D.M.C, will release his first solo album in January. Entitled Checks Thugs and Rock 'n Roll, the album will feature the musical styles of many artists, including CSI' Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown).
- Those of you who would like to follow Grissom's footsteps become real-life entomologists, Toys R Us recently released a forensic entomology kit. The kit comes with the tools necessary to catch butterflies, trap insects, and the paraphernalia needed to study them. You can get it for $29.99 at Amazon.com.
- Hill Harper (Dr. Sheldon Hawkes) is set to attend the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund Inc.'s 18th Anniversary Awards Dinner and Gala this November 7th in New York. The awards will be presented to four individuals for their demonstrated commitment to advancing higher education, supporting public Historically Black Colleges and universities, promoting diversity and for exemplary leadership in their respective professions.
- According to a research done by Score Media Metrix, more and more fans are searching the web for information on their favorite shows. Visits to television related sites last month grew by 8 percent, and thanks to the ratings powerhouses Lost and Desperate Housewives, ABC saw a massive 90 percent increase to 7.6 million visitors.
- According to Google.com, artist Madonna is currently its second most searched topic in its engine. Madonna's new single, Hung Up, will be featured in next week's Miami and New York crossover episodes "Felony Flight" and "Manhattan Manhunt."
- The FOX show Night Stalker might not keep stalking much longer, according to the network. The show's timeslot against CSI is not doing it much favors in the ratings battle. "To go up against 'CSI,' we knew was a tough task to begin with," said Jeff Bader, executive VP ABC Entertainment.
- And in order to spice things up over at PBS, the network plans to remake old classics, such as Sherlock Holmes and Rumpole of the Bailey, with American actors. For the main role in I, Claudius, the website Rocky Mount Telegram suggested Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) for his depth and range, and jokingly added David Caruso (Horatio Caine) to the list of contenders. "David Caruso could don a toga, strike a pose and twist his head. Sunglasses optional," the site said.
- And the Philadelphia Inquirer recently ran an article about how television violence affects Americans' perception of their own safety.
