Jorja Fox's (Sara Sidle) fans spread the love.
When it was announced that Fox was going to be leaving CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, a portion of the fanbase took action. Sites such as the Jorja Fox Appreciation Campaign (JFA) were opened to support the actress and to show the network how much the character of Sara Sidle meant to the fans.
During Fox's last week on the CSI set, the JFA campaign sent plants and bouquets of flowers to the actress. Fox was moved by the gesture and sent a note to the JFA campaign to thank them. After the week was over, the campaign had to decide what to do with the extra money raised by the fans, so they asked the actress herself. Fox and executive producer Carol Mendelsohn chose to donate the money to The National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association, a volunteer group dedicated to helping children in the foster care system.
The donations from the JFA campaign will be added to the donations sent to CBS as part of the Dollars for Sense campaign, as well as the money raised by selling the miniature version of Grissom's office created for the season seven finale, "Living Doll". According to the Dollars for Sense website, the campaign has raised more than $5,000 to donate to CASA. Fox and Mendelsohn are expected to present the donation to CASA sometime next week.
Thank you to the Jorja Fox Appreciaton Campaign and Danielle Belec for sharing this news.
