Adam Rodriguez To Star In The Telefilm 'Category 7'

Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko) will join Randy Quaid and Shannen Doherty in the four hour TV movie Category 7: The End Of The World.

This action packed telefilm is a continuation of Category 6: Day of Destruction, which aired last year on CBS and was a ratings smash. The story follows a massive storm that is destroying the world and as it heads to the United States, scientists try to discover why it's so severe. Rodriguez plays a co-pilot who has the extremely dangerous mission of flying into the eye of the storm in order to collect scientific data.

In a segment that will air tonight, Entertainment Tonight will bring the viewers a behind-the-scenes look into Category 7. The show caught up with star Randy Quaid, whose character miraculously survived the first movie. Quaid admitted he's no stranger to hurricanes. "I grew up in Houston, hurricanes came through there. The worst one was Hurricane Carla back in '61. It was very powerful."

But some critics aren't sure Category 7 will prove to be a strong sequel. John Leonard, of the New York Magazine, said the movie lacks good dialogue but has an unfortunate overabundance of "hot" actors. "A combination of global warming and mesospherics, of Doppler radar and blowhard rhetoric, electrifies the Eiffel Tower, pulverizes the pyramids, and even boinks Buffalo. But what Category 7 is really all about—besides vapor trails, political climate control, and careers twisting in the wind—is hot bodies in constant motion."

The first two hours of Category 7: The End Of The World will air this Sunday November 6th at 9/8c on CBS, while the conclusion will air a week later. Tune in to tonight's segment of Entertainment Tonight to learn more about the project.
