The first CSI: New York season finale will apparently return to the show's character-based roots by telling a story with personal ramifications for Gary Sinise's Mac Taylor.
"I was wondering when someone was gonna get around to asking me about this show," TV Guide's Michael Ausiello wrote in his weekly television column, in which he previously revealed the names of several high-profile CSI guest stars. "I've actually got a huge scoop about the show's season finale. Gary Sinise's Mac will find himself to be part of the evidence in a murder/robbery case."
While Ausiello didn't provide any more information beyond this cryptic description, CSI: NY showrunner Anthony Zuiker also briefly talked about the final episode his Zap2It interview today. "Our finale is about setting all the characters in motion for season two," Zuiker said, and added the first season had been a bit of a trial run for the show.
Meanwhile, USA Today this morning provided a new casting scoop for the original CSI. The newspaper revealed that Tony-winning actress Donna Murphy will guest-star in the April 21 episode "Hollywood Brass." She'll be playing a friend of Capt. Brass who helps him in a case involving his daughter. Murphy has previously appeared in films such as Star Trek: Insurrection and The Astronaut's Wife, and a had a regular role on Murder One.
