Zuiker, Danson & Helgenberger Talk ‘CSI’ Finale, Plus More Set Pics
4 min readCSI creator (and finale writer) Anthony Zuiker told TV Guide that CSI: Crime Scene Investigation‘s series finale, “Immortality”, revolves around “a catastrophic event that paralyzes Las Vegas.” He also said:
There’s a lot of minutiae in there, a lot of homage — a little something for everyone, from the one-percenters to the casual fans. We did the best we could to write a story that was able to have sufficient closure for all the people we love.
Ted Danson (DB Russell) spoke to Zap2It while promoting Fargo at the Television Critics Association (TCA) summer press tour, and he had this to say about the finale:
Without giving anything away, they bring back the people that make that series great over the years. The fans will get to see the people they really grew up with with that series. It’s really honoring of the cast members who were there from the very beginning. It’s cool.
CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler told TV critics that the finale is a bittersweet reunion, featuring original cast members William Petersen (Gil Grissom) and Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows). “This will be a very satisfying ending for all the CSI fans,” she revealed, as quoted by the Associated Press.
Helgenberger also spoke about CSI’s series finale during the TCAs. According to Fox News, she said Lady Heather (Melinda Clarke) “weighs heavily in the story in terms of the crime that is committed and in terms of the Sara/Grissom relationship.” Here’s another quote about the TV movie:
What I can share is that it is going to be a crowd pleaser, and the true diehard fans will be satisfied. There’s a lot of story that will get wrapped up and a lot of fan favorite characters are brought back. I was satisfied. I think fans will be, too.
