While the team investigates the death of one of three Afghanistan soldiers who are training in the U.S., they discover two other soldiers are missing and must find them before they’re forced to reveal classified military operations to their captors. Also, Sam is back to work but his team worries it may be too soon, and Callen realizes he has very little in common with his partner.

Agent Avery Ryan and her cyber team investigate a roller coaster crash caused by someone who found a way to hack into the ride’s internal computer.
Jeff Thomas directed the episode, which marks his eighth credit for the franchise; he helmed seven episodes of CSI: New York, most recently “Reignited” during the show’s ninth and final season. Executive Producer/Showrunner Pam Veasey co-wrote “CMND:\Crash” with Co-Executive Producer Craig O’Neill. This is O’Neill’s first credit for the franchise, but Veasey penned 39 episodes of CSI: NY, including season nine’s “Nine Thirteen”.

Jarrod Crawford has credits for CSI: NY (“Civilized Lies”) and CSI: Miami (“See No Evil”). Jason George was in the Miami episode “Out of Time” during the show’s eighth season. Matthew R Staley has stunt credits for CSI (“Cold Blooded”) and New York (“Hide Sight”). The other actors are new to the franchise.
CSI isn’t on the schedule this week. However, CBS will air repeats of NCIS (“Parental Guidance Suggested”) and Criminal Minds (“If the Shoe Fits”) on Saturday from 8:00-10:00pm ET/PT.
