Sinise Celebrates July 4th With Release Of ‘For The Common Good’

2 min read

As CSI Files previously reported, the documentary Lt Dan Band: For the Common Good featuring CSI: New York’s Gary Sinise is now available on the movie’s official website. Fans around the world can watch For the Common Good online for $3.99 (USD) during the next 30 days. “This way, anybody anywhere in the world can go on the website and watch it,” Sinise explained to Zap2It. “We have people deployed all over the world, service members who might be interested. They can all go online.” He added, “It’s a very interesting experiment here. Hope it works.”

Initially, Sinise was hesitant about making a documentary. “I wasn’t looking to make a documentary or document anything,” the actor told Entertainment Weekly. “The director, Jonathan Flora, came to me having heard that I was visiting the troops, and he pitched an idea of following me around.” At first, Sinise had to give it some thought because he wanted the subject matter to be treated with respect; however, he needn’t have worried.

“[T]he first thing he shot was me playing for something called Snowball Express, which is an organization I’ve supported which brings together the children of our fallen soldiers and gives them a great time,” Sinise explained. “So he came down, saw what I was doing with the kids, and interviewed some of the parents, you know, the spouses who had lost either a husband or a wife. I think from that point on, he was absolutely hooked on what I was going to show him.”
